Wide Adoption of OLED Laptops and Tablets Starting

In 2020, OLED laptops released by HP, Asus, and Dell were major hits in the premium market segment. Samsung Electronics has also launched aggressive marketing efforts to increase its OLED laptop sales. This year, Samsung Display plans to supply more than 10 types of OLED panels with different specifications for use in laptops. Apple is also considering the adoption of OLED panels on iPad and MacBook devices from 2022. The transition to OLED displays is seen as the next rational step for further differentiation of the devices and will mark the company's first strategic change in five years since the adoption of OLED displays on iPhone models in 2017.
