Uptick in Global Large Area Panel Shipments Not Impacting AUO

AUO announced consolidated revenues of NT$21.61 billion (US$734.28) for June 2020, down by 0.6% sequentially and 11.2% Y/Y. Consolidated revenues for Q220 was NT$63.50 billion, up 18.3% sequentially and 9.4% Y/Y. Large area shipments totaled around 30.71 million units, up 37.0% sequentially and up 13.0% Y/Y. Musing’s Take: Despite increases in global monitor and notebook panel and flat TV panel shipments in Q220, AUO remains a slow performer as Chinese absorb greater market share and AUO is falling prey to the low LCD large are and small/medium prices.
