Tianma to Formally Start Shipping Flexible OLEDs in 1H20
June 10, 2019 DigiTimes reports that Tianma Microelectronics said it expects to begin shipping its flexible panels to clients in the first half of 2020. It showcased samples of its 7.4-inch flexible WQHD AMOLED panels at Computex 2019. The 7.4-inch flexible panel comes with an in-folding design with a bending radius of 3mm, a bending angle ranging from zero to 180 degrees, an overall module thickness of less than 0.25mm, a 21:9 full screen aspect ratio and with a resolution of 3,360 by 1,440 pixels (493 PPI). Tianma also showed its 6.3- and 6.4-inch blind-hole handset displays at the fair. The company's blind-hole displays have been adopted by Huawei for its Honor V20 and Nova 4 smartphones, according to industry sources. The company is the third-ranked supplier of automotive displays globally and was the top vendor in China in the segment in 2018. It exhibited an 8.8-inch rear-view e-Mirror, which features ultra-thin borders, wide operating temperature ranges, wide viewing angle and high brightness; and an integrated multi-screen automotive cockpit display accommodating three 12.3-inch panels serving as dashboard, CID and co-pilot display, respectively. Tianma also exhibited a 1.2-inch AA (active area) circular OLED display for smartwatch applications. From: DigiTimes Figure 1: Tianma Foldable AMOLED Panel at Computex 2019 |
