Tianma Bets on Automotive Displays for Chinese Car Makers
Tianma Microelectronics shipments of automotive panels increased significantly in recent years. The company is shipping dashboards, central information display (CID) and dual-display devices to a number of Chinese automakers, including NIO, Xiaopeng, BYD Auto, GAC New Energy and Roewe. It ships its 10.1- and 12.8-inch CID devices to BYD Auto, 12.3-inch dashboards to Xiaopeng and 8.8- and 8.9-inch dashboards for NIO's ES-series models, the sources indicated. Tianma recently introduced a 1.4-meter integrated display paired with OLED rearview mirrors enabling a number of functions including gesture recognition, navigation, entertainment, video conference, online shopping and smart home applications through fingerprint sensing technology. It has also launched local dimming-enabled curved displays featuring ultra-high contrast black display systems to strengthen driving safety at night.
