Sharp To Start Over, Supplying TV Panels To Samsung
In 2017, Foxconn decided to emphasis the “Sharp” TV brand and suddenly ceased supplng LCD TV panels to Samsung and others. But now that Samsung Display is closing its LCD panel lines, Samsung Visual needs to source more LCD TV panel from outside suppliers. The hard feelings between Samsung and Sharp caused by Foxconn’s precipitous and premature exit from its supply agreement with Samsung Visual has been pushed aside because Sharp has excess capacity and Samsung needs panels.
