Semi and Display Equipment Makers Suffer From Over Industry Capacity

Worldwide semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings reached US$13.3 billion in the second quarter of 2019, down 20 percent Y/Y and 3 percent sequentially, according to SEMI.

In the display industry, DSCC recently forecasted that 2019 equipment spending would be down 28% in 2019, up 31% in 2020, due to the installs of Gen 10.5 fabs and then essentially down thru 2024 as LCD spending is cut to zero.
