SEMES to Sell Non-IJP Equipment Business to Wonik
SEMES a Samsung Electronics subsidiary is reportedly in final negotiations with Korean equipment supplier Wonik to sell their display equipment business, other than the ink-jet printing business. An MOU has been signed, but the $69.4m price is still under negotiation after a number of other potential buyers were unable to agree on terms. SEMES sells coaters, etchers, and display cleaning equipment, but has seem relatively little activity since SDC decided to pull away from its large panel display business. SEMES also has a semiconductor tool business which produces the bulk of its sales, although SDC chose SEMES in an ink-jet printing competition with Kateeva by bidding at ~0% of Kateeva’s price.
