Samsung to Release 5G OLED Tablet

Samsung Electronics is planning to release the first 5G tablet, the Tab S6 5G. This model is expected to duplicate the current Tab S6, a 10.5” OLED tablet that was released in August. The Tab S6 sells for ~$665 but pricing for the 5G model has not been revealed, nor has the device been given a release date yet, however, it has passed through the certification process in South Korea, which is usually a sign of near-term release. While Samsung has a number of directly comparable 4G/5G devices, which give some indication as to the premium charged for the 5G versions, as the first of its kind, the price of the Galaxy Tab S10 5G is a bit more speculative.
Based on the relatively limited data on Samsung’s 5G premiums, it is estimated that the Galaxy Tab S6 5G will have a ~40% premium to its 4G version, which would set the price at ~$930. Apple and Huawei are expected to release 5G versions of their iPad and MediaPad devices next year
