Samsung Mobile Qualifies CSoT as a Supplier of OLED Panels

ChinaStar, a TCL subsidiary has reportedly been approved as a potential supplier of OLED displays to Samsung. Samsung Mobile has previously tried to qualify other China OLED panel makers, in order to put pressure on SDC to get the panel prices down. CSoT is apparently the first to pass Samsung’s rigid criteria.  BOE is also going through the evaluation process and while they did not make the cut as a major OLED display supplier for the current iPhone family, they have approved as a replacement screen supplier.  Last year LG Display was put in the same category and this year was upgraded to one of the iPhone 12 primary panels. Visionox is also said to be under evaluation.
