OLED Smartphone Trends in Panel Size, 5G Connectivity, and Notch type

47 OLED smartphones have been announced YTD, 34% higher than last year. Smartphone brands Honor, Huawei, Motorola and Xiaomi have significantly increased a number of OLED smartphones. The new phones can be characterized by: 

• 6.0+ inch range,
• No 5.0-inch OLED displays 
• Increase 5G connectivity
• Increase number of dual notch and punch hole design

​2020 OLED smartphones are 6.0-inch to under 7.0-inch except Xiaomi’s Black Shark 3 Pro, which features a 7.1-inch with 1440 x 3120 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. There were four 6.67-inch, which is produced by SDC and BOE, three of each 6.4-inch and 6.44-inch, which are produced by mostly by SDC, two of each 6.5-inch, 6.57-inch, 6.58-inch and 6.7-inch, which are produced by SDC, BOE, Visionox and LGD.

​16 OLED smartphones included 5G capability in 2019 whereas 32 OLED smartphones with 5G connectivity were introduced YTD.
