OLED Smartphone Share to Grow from 20.5% in 2016 to 25.3% in 2017

Smartphone shipments were 1.5b in 2016 and are forecast to grow 7.7% Y/Y to 1.62b in 2017. OLED displays had a 20.5% share of total smartphone panels with Samsung the leader with a 68% share of OLED smartphone panels followed by Oppo and Vivo with 10% each. In 2017, OLED panels are expected to grow to 25.3% of all smartphone displays with Samsung dropping to a 57% share, followed by Apple at 13%, Oppo and Vivo at 9% each.
