Nubia Z20—A Dual OLED Display Phone
October 14, 2019

The Nubia Z20 is another dual-screen phone, but it takes a very different approach than the recently announced Duo from Microsoft. There have been many different attempts at getting the front-facing camera off the front of phones. Nubia’s approach with the Nubia Z20 is to remove the front camera entirely and slap a second display on the back. This means the rear camera and display can be used to take a selfie.
The rear display is AMOLED (like the front), but it’s dimmer since it’s made to blend in with the back more. It can be easily switched between apps on the front and back as well. The Nubia Z20 treats selfies and regular photos different. Even though both modes use the same cameras, if the rear display is used, it will cap video to 1080p (even though it can do 4K when using the main display).
