IDC reported that in Q419, India, the 2nd largest smartphone market had shipments of 36.9m up 5.4% Y/Y. India absorbed 10% of global smartphone shipments in Q419, which were down 1.2%. China the leading country had a 23.1% share and was up 27.3% Y/Y. in India, vivo replaced in the #2 position as it increase shipments by 97.1% Y/Y, while Samsung dropped by 16.2%.

Counterpoint reported that the industry shipped only 15.1m 5G smartphones in 2019, with Samsung and Huawei providing the 77% of the total.
