LTPO Will Enable Apple to Offer VRR in some iPhone 13 Models

The Elec has revealed that Apple’s iPhone 13 will offer variable refresh rate displays and improve their mediocre battery life, both of which were casualties of Apple fitting its new phones with downgraded batteries. And the secret is not to increase the battery size, to use LTPO OLED displays.  Late last month, settlement papers between Apple and Qualcomm confirmed Apple will be using Qualcomm’s next-gen X60 5G Modem in 2021 which fixes the other major flaw in the iPhone 12 lineup: the X55 5G modem. The predecessor to the X60 has high battery drain, limited international support (there’s no mmWave for iPhone 12 owners outside the US) and no 5G dual sim compatibility. You can wave goodbye to all of these shortcomings with the X60. The iPhone 13 line-up will also have twice the storage of current iPhones, as well as a smaller notch and in-display Touch ID working alongside Face ID for military grade security.
