LG Display’s Q121 25.9% Share of the Global Automotive Large Display Market is #1
Omdia reported that LGD maintained the top spot for 11 consecutive quarters and had a 91% share of the automotive OLED panel market. Omdia predicts that the OLED panel market for vehicles will grow 430% from US$50 million (about 55.9 billion won) in 2020 to US$264 million in 2023. Samsung Display was #2 with a 9 percent share. It focuses on small and medium-sized OLED displays.
LGD’s share in 2020 puts their vehicle display shipments at shipments at ~30m, with Samsung at ~12m. The vehicle display market is expected to have a CAGR of 12% thru 2023, while vehicle shipments have a CAGR of 10%.
