LG Announces 32” 4K Monitor; Debuted at CES 2021
LG announced the UltraFine OLED Pro 32EP950 in January at CES 2021, but it was quiet on its price. It will retail for €3,999 ($5555). According to LG, the monitor should launch in July 2021, although it remains unclear if that is a European launch or a global one. The 32EP950 is only a 60 Hz panel too, despite LG selling 120 Hz OLED ones in its BX and CX TV lines. According to the company, the 32EP950 offers 10-bit color depth, 1 ms grey-to-grey response times and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Additionally, LG has certified the monitor as DisplayHDR 400 True Black and claims that it covers 99% of both the AdobeRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. LG has equipped the monitor with a USB Type-C port that can recharge devices at up to 90 W too using USB Power Delivery, along with two DisplayPort connections, one HDMI and three USB Type-A ports. LG has also announced the UltraFine 32BP95E, which matches the 32EP950's specifications but includes a light protection hood and a self-calibration option. The company is yet to confirm how much the 32BP95E will cost, although it has given an estimate of between €3,000 and €4,000. This price range also applies to the UltraFine 27EP950 and the 27BP95E, which are 27-inch versions of the 32EP950 and 32BP95E. These three monitors will be orderable sometime during summer 2021. The panel was reportedly supplied by JOLED from its Gen 5.5 IJP fab.
