LCD TV Panels Prices Flat MoM in November
December 01, 2019

As utilization rates at LCD panel producers dropped in November, TV price stability finally arrived as TVs pricing was flat sequentially, but notebook and monitor prices continued to fall but at historical levels.  TV brands are beginning to offer considerable discounts on ultra-large TVs (65” and up) in order to reduce inventories, which will pressure TV pricing on 55” and smaller sizes at least through the holidays.  This action is designed to drive volume, and could help TV panel prices to stabilize over the next two months, if brand targets are not enough to offset expected price declines in 2020, especially in 65”+ TV sizes, the additional panel volume will have little impact. TV size are trending flat, which could impact utilization if the typical 1 to 2” average increase doesn’t materialize.
