Innolux and AUO Expect Lower Y/Y Revenue and Shipments in Q417
December 17, 2017 Innolux’s consolidated revenues grew 10.6% sequentially in November to US$912.69 million, buoyed by increased shipments of large-sized flat panels. The monthly figures, however, showed a decline of 6.2% Y/Y. Shipments of large-sized panels totaled 10.61 million units in November, increasing 13.7% sequentially. Medium- to small-sized panel shipments reached 23.67 million units, down 2% sequentially. For the first 11 months of 2017, revenues amounted to NT$302.13 billion, increasing 18.51% Y/Y. The company expects large-sized panel shipments to remain flat in the fourth quarter with ASPs falling 5%, while shipments of medium- to small-sized panels are likely to drop 7-9% with ASPs showing sequential increases. AU Optronics (AUO) announced unaudited consolidated revenues of US$911.81 million for November 2017, flat sequentially and down by 9.4% Y/Y. Shipments of large-sized panels exceeded 10.02 million units in November 2017, up by 8.9% sequentially and small- to medium-size panels, were 15.3 million units, down by 0.8% sequentially. UBI expects flexible OLED panels to be installed in 1.3b smartphones in 2022 and 50 m will be foldable. |
