Huawei Mate X 2 Due in 2021 with an Inward folding 8” OLED
The Huawei Mate X was sold only in China and volume was very low but the Huawei Mate X2 expected in 2021, will be much closer to the Samsung Z Fold design. The Mate X2 includes two displays (vs. 1 on the Mate X) – an internal 8.01-inch 2200 x 2480 and a 6.45- inch 1160 x 2700 secondary. The internal screen suggests that the screen is folded inward (leaving the main screen hidden when flipped closed), whereas on the Huawei Mate X, the main screen is the only screen and is still visible, only shrinking to half its usable size when flipped closed. Other leaked specs include a 16MP selfie camera and a quad-lens rear camera, with 50MP, 16MP, 12MP and 8MP lenses. There’s no mention of each lens, but it does look like an upgrade from the four-lens setup offered by the Huawei Mate Xs, at least in terms of megapixels.
The Huawei Mate X2 is expected to support up to 10x optical zoom, using a combination of optical and digital zoom to achieve that zoom range. It lists a high-end Kirin 9000 chipset, as well as a 4400mAh battery with 66W fast charging, Android 10 (but don’t expect Google apps or access to the Google Play Store), dimensions of 161.8 x 145.8 x 8.2 mm, and a weight of 295g.
