Foldable OLED Smartphone Panels to Hit 1.7% Share in Q220

Stonepartners reported that foldable OLED market shipment share will rise to 1.65% of total smartphone shipments in Q2’20 when the Galaxy Fold 2 is released on June 16. The research firm indicated that the Fold share was a 0.3% last year. They also forecasted that flexible OLED’s shipment share in Q3’20 will rise to 54.2% flexible surpassing the 44.4% rigid OLED. In Q1’20, they reported that Samsung was #1 with 44.5M rigid OLED panel producer followed by EDO at 3.3M units and Visionox at 1.3M units. For flexible OLED panels, Samsung maintained its #1 position, shipping 36.8M units with a 79.4% share followed by LGD at 4.6M units with 10.0% share and BOE shipping 4.5M units and a 9.9% share.
