Could LG Supply Flexible OLED Displays to Apple in 2018?
December 17, 2017

Samsung is Apple’s exclusive OLED supplier however, there have been several reports that Apple is planning to expand its number of OELD display devices in future, an is looking to take on new suppliers. Clearly, LG is a candidate but LG’s flexible displays used on the L30 and the Google Pixel 2 XL do not measure up to the specifications for the of the iPhone X panel. Moreover, in 2018, Apple LG Display’s capacity is  ~100m but it is shifted to Q3 and Q4, meaning that Apple would not have sufficient flexible display capacity to service a significant segment of Apple’s demand in 2018.
