AUO Suffers Another Weak Quarter in Q219

AU Optronics announced consolidated revenues for June reached NT$24.34 billion (US$780.56 million), down by 1.6% sequentially and 2.0% Y/Y. Consolidated revenues in the second quarter of 2019 came to NT$70.07 billion, up by 5.0% sequentially but down by 6.6% Y/Y, said the flat panel maker. Shipments of large-size panels (10-inch and above) for LCD TV, desktop monitor, notebook PC, and other applications exceeded 9.65 million units in June 2019, down by 4.3% sequentially. Small/medium panels shipments were about 11.51 million units, up by 13.1% sequentially, said AUO. In the second quarter of 2019, large-size panel shipments were 27.17 million units, up by 5% sequentially but down by 2.9% Y/Y. Small/medium panel shipments were 33.0m, up by 32.2% sequentially but down by 27.2% Y/Y.
