Samsung to Produce 100K Foldable Smartphones/Month Beginning in April

Etnewsreported that Samsung Display (SDC) has issued POs to component producers for Galaxy Fold production. SDC’s component vendors such as camera module producers will be starting to supply from this month. It is expected that Samsung Mobile will be able to finalize foldable devices either at the end of March or early April. The official Galaxy Fold’s release date is April 26th. The report said the order volumes from SDC to component producers are just under 100K per month, which would result in a production level of 900K in 2019. The companies in SDC foldable display’s value chain are shown in the next table.
