Samsung Gains in Europe as Apple Loses Share
August 19, 2019

Samsung upped its game in Europe by releasing a range of new A Series phones and increased its market share from 33.8% to 40.6% in the region in Q219. The gains came at the expense of Apple, which dropped from a 17.0% share to 14.2%. Overall, Europe’s shipments were down only 0.2%, better than global sales for the quarter down 2%. Europe has a 13.5% share of the global market, trailing China, and the U.S. It is most important to HMD (Nokia brand), however, their European component of shipments dropped from 37.5% to 25.0% signaling the lack of a competitive product line.
