​Gou’s Message from On-High Misses with the Voters

​Terry Gou, the founder and former Chairman of Hon Hai/Foxconn lost his bid to become Taiwan’s Nationalist (Kuomintang) Party candidate to the Mayor of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, its 2nd largest city.  Much of the sentiment in the election campaigns has been focused on Chinese efforts toward reunification of Taiwan, and candidates are being judged on their stance after protests in Hong Kong over an extradition bill that would allow the transfer of criminal suspects to Mainland China, where many believe they would not get a fair trial.
