5G Expected to Grow at a Faster Rate than 4G
Counterpoint provided a chart showing the uptake of new phone releases based on the use of mobile technologies from 1G to 5G. Given that only 15m 5G phones shipped in 2019, it is only a small blip on the chart, but it is expected to grow much faster than 4G as over 200m 5G phones are forecasted for 2010. In the 2nd year of 4G, the figure was <100m.
