Taiwan Display Industry Continues Resurgence in Q121
 
The Taiwanese panel makers are enjoying a resurgence in demand for Large area panels and the almost doubling of panel prices over the past 6 months. While Samsung, Sharp and LG reacted to China’s explosive growth in capacity, by shuttering selling or converting large panel LCD fabs, the Taiwanese had no such options, if they wanted to stay in business. In February, the 3 major suppliers were up >50% Y/Y, due in part to the start of the pandemic, which caused Feburary’20 sales to be lower than typical.
