Tablet Shipments Continue to Fall with Apple the Biggest Loser
May 15, 2017

Tablet Shipments continued to fall as worldwide shipments went from 39.6m to 36.3 in Q117, a drop of 8.3% Y/Y. Apple was the biggest loser dropping 13.6% Y/Y, making up 1.4m of the total 3.3m drop in shipments. Samsung the 32 supplier was flat Y/Y and Huawei has the largest growth. It figures continue to indicate that Tablets are no longer of significant interest to consumers and the main growth market is commercial. It is unlikely that future quarters will show any growth, even as Samsung shifts all of its tablets to OLED displays.
