Samsung Down To The Details On China LCD Fab Sale

Samsung Display hopes to close the sale of its Suzhou, China Gen 8.5 LCD fab by the end of October. The fab and module line is expected to be purchased by TCL in cooperation with its ChinaStar subsidiary.   SDC is expected to sell 100% of its ownership in the module plant to TCL while selling 60% of the LCD fab portion it owns directly.  SDC’s ownership of the China fab is 60%, with the Suzhou government holding 30% and TCL/ChinaStar holding 10%. Samsung is expected to close all of its remaining large panel LCD production lines in South Korea by the end of the year.
