Reduction in LCD Panel Production Leads to TV Panel Turnaround

Overall inventory of LCD TV panels has been brought down to more healthy levels signaling that TV panel prices could stage a rebound in the first quarter of 2020.
Panel makers' recent efforts to cut back production during the low season, and strong TV sales during Double 11 in China and during Black Friday all contributed to the reduction in inventories. Sales of TVs during Double 11 in China increased 18.9% on year to 3.58 million in unit terms and also upped 1.1% to CNY7.5 billion (US$1.066 billion) in sales value, according to data compiled by China-based All View Cloud (AVC). With TV vendors also ready to launch new models for the coming year and panel makers not ramping up output, quotes for mainstream TV panel sizes, including 32-, 43-, 50-, 55- and 60-inch ones, have been stable in December.
