Pixel 6 to Feature Rigid OLED Panels From Samsung

A previous leak revealed that both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro would ship with OLED screens, While the display type own for the ‘Pro’ model is still unannounced, Ross Young commented that using a rigid OLED panel would be much cheaper as these panels costs one-third the price of flexible OLED screens.

The drawback of using rigid OLED screens is that the finished panel is almost twice as thick as a flexible panel as it uses two glass substrates compared to a flexibles PI and TFE. The use of glass also requires a larger bezel. In terms of design, previous renders have shown that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be unlike anything Google has ever released. The Google Pixel 6 could get faster wireless charging thanks to a new Pixel Stand that's rumored to be in the works.
