July IT Panel Shipments Up, While TV Panel Shipments Sink to Lowest of Year

In the aggregate, July’s large panel sales increased by 1.5% sequentially. China has been averaging 48.7% of large LCD panel sales, Taiwan (26.5%) and South Korea (19.7%).  August is typically a stronger month, averaging +4.8% in sequential shipments and a 5.6% increase in large panel sales, but the impact of the TV panel price shipments and price decreases should reduce overall industry revenue.  TV panel shipments in July were 20.6m. the lowest month of the year, down 15.1% Y/Y and 6.3% sequentially. Offsetting the slow TV panel sales were notebooks and monitors which reached the highest volume of the year.
