Commercial Version of LG’s Rollable TV to be Introduced at CES
November 05, 2018

The rollable OLED prototype that LG Display showcased earlier this year will transform into an actual OLED TV at CES 2019 in January, according to a report by Engadget.  Engadget is now reporting that it “has seen internal documents highlighting intended topics for the presentation” at CES 2019 by LG Electronics – the manufacturer of consumer products. These slides include a rollable OLED TV, “perhaps with an eye for launching it next year as a real product”, the report said.
Why would you want a TV to roll up after use? Well, some consumers may like the fact that the TV is out of sight when not in use and may therefore accept a much larger TV in their living room. The slides also include plans for a foldable phone, which is presumably also enabled by OLED technology.
