BOE’s OLED Panels for the Galaxy S21 Failed Quality Screen
June 14, 2020

South Korean outlet DDaily reported BOE’s OLED 6.67 inch panels with a 90Hz refresh rate failed to pass Samsung’s quality testing. BOE’s OLED panels have apparently also failed tests for the iPhone 12 as well. DSCC had reported that despite low utilization of SDC’s flexible fabs,  Samsung Mobile trying to put pricing pressure on SDC by using these screens for next year’s Galaxy S series (the Samsung Galaxy S21 or Galaxy S30. The website notes that BOE’s panels failed to clear this first hurdle, quality testing, but there’s still time for a new set of panels with higher quality to pass the initial screen.
