BOE Passes LGD in Flexible OLED Panel Shipments
March 25, 2019

IHS projects that in the first 5 months of 2019 BOE will ship 8m flexible OLED panels or 86% more than LGD, as shown in the following figure. Both companies progressing in the development of flexible OLED panels as BOE is now producing flexible AMOLEDs for Huawei models, and has a strong position with China’s OEMs. They started producing foldable smartphone displays and plan MP from Q3 2019.LG Display has been shipping to multiple customers, but volume has been low and mass production for Apple was delayed to Q2 2019.Despite the grow for both firms, they are just a fraction of Samsung Display’s capability, which is ~30m flexible panels/month. From IHS
