LG Upgrades the V60 Dual Display Phone

March 02, 2020

LG announced the  V60 (or LG V60 ThinQ 5G); the 2020 version of the LG V50. The 6.8-inch device with pOLED display packs the latest Snapdragon 865 processor including mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G support, and a 5000mAh battery. LG says the V60 will last 30% longer than the LG V50.
  • It has two cameras on the back of the device: a standard angle and an ultrawide, plus a ToF sensor for better portraits, and it can record 8K video.
  • There’s 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot, headphone jack with LG’s standard Quad DAC for great wired sound, and optional accessories.
  • Optional accessories: like the LG G8X before it, the V60 again has a bundled second-screen attachment, for a dual-screen and folding-phone-like experience.
  • The refresh rate is 60Hz screen refresh rates as Samsung and others move to 120Hz, while the screen resolution is 1080p only, dropping from higher resolutions like Quad HD or even 4K in Sony’s latest flagship.
  • On the plus side, LG is working on a new and better UI.
  • It should be available in the US on all major carriers.

LG says it’ll be “less than $999” and available in “spring”.
