… So Does AUO and Innolux
AUO and Innolux also posted sharp revenue increases in second-quarter and first-half 2021. AUO’s Q221 revenues grew 15.33% sequentially and 50.64% Y/Y to a six-year high of NT$95.656 billion (US$3.416 billion), and January-June sales jumped 52.4% on year to NT$178.596 billion. Innolux's revenues for Q221 gained 11.2% sequentially and 39.4% Y/Y reaching NT$93.236 billion, with the H121 sales soaring 50.99% to NT$177.074 billion.
The handwriting is on the wall, as LCD prices have stopped growing and these panel makers need to tighten their belts, or they will regress to negative net income probably by early 2022.
